Brunette to Blonde...(but really just a lighter brunette)

Hey, I posted about wanting to get my hair cut like last year and never posted about my new hair doo. I actually took the plunge and got it done.

So, I never mentioned in the previous post about my hair that I get extreme nerves going to the hairdressers...this is why

Ok so just one of my bad experiences was when I went to a hairdresser to get a front fringe. At the time I had a side fringe, quite long down the right of my face. After sitting for a while enduring the pain of those thinning, comb scissors I was done and it was time to look in the mirror at the finished result. Well...I didn't get a front fringe what I got was a slightly shorter side fringe than I'd come in with but on the OTHER SIDE OF MY FACE. That is just one reason why I get nervous going to get my hair done.

Before photo, I've edited it so you can see just my hair. I am pale but not quite that pale!! haha

This time I told my hairdresser to take off what I needed to give my hair a good shot at being healthy again. It was a very brave move on my part, I think so anyway. I also gave her the photo of Reese Witherspoon of the style of fringe I liked. Which thank goodness I got.

After this trip to the hairdressers I was so sad  about the length of my hair, I miss my long hair so much that every time I see a photo of my hair before it was chopped off I genuinely regret getting it cut!
I got gift vouchers from my brother's girlfriend to get my hair done for Christmas but because I had just gotten it cut I decided I was going to go Blonde for a complete change buuuutttt... because of my luck with getting my hair done, I came out with highlights instead. They do make a slight difference to my hair though, kind of lightened it up a bit. In the end I like the style of my hair other than it being super short now.

The After photo

That was one of my hair disaster stories but trust me I have had much worse, have any of you actually wished you had cut your hair yourself?

Guilty

I have been awfully absent from this blog after only just starting it and I feel guilty for not blogging. Lots of things have been going on and still are. I am very busy with college, work and college work; it gets quite stressful for me (and I'm already a stressed out person). But I am going to make the effort to blog more often.

My last post was shamefully before Christmas about my plan to decorate my house with Disney! Now, we did try, honestly me and my mum were sitting at kitchen table colouring in Minnie and Mickey Christmas pictures...Which I loved!! But unfortunately we didn't have enough stuff to make it look good so instead we went totes traditional and decorated with gold and red, it was actually lovely.

I realise now that reading back on my very few posts, I never followed through with what I said about finding a winter coat, new hair cut, Christmas presents and Christmas decorations, all of which did change and were done...so maybe I'll catch up now.

Anyway, I haven't really been up to anything exciting so the nothing on my blog is actually what has being going on with me, Sad eh?!

I will make more of an effort xo

Walt Disney has my Heart x

Every year at Christmas time, my mum and I choose what colour theme we are going to decorate the tree. One year we done all pink..

One year we done tradition and went all green and red but this year we are going DISNEY! We are decorating the tree and the house with Minnie & Mickey Mouse (and friends). The decorations are really expensive so we will be making our own.
We will be using bobbles we already have and sticking on Minnie & Mickey mouse stickers and  I've bought wrapping paper and gift tags with Minnie & Mickey on them and I will be using them to make decorations to hang from the roof and off the walls. The presents under the tree will all be wrapped in mini Minnie & Mickey faces! I have also printed out colour in pages that my mum and I are going to colour in together then cut round to decorate with (its Mickey & Minnie wearing Santa hats of course). I just need to get myself some felt tip pens.

I love Disney and I can't wait to make all of our decorations then get them up in the house on the 1st of December.

Welcome into my living room Ant & Dec!

Lets get ready to JUNGLE!

I am beyond happy that the boys (Ant and Dec) are back on tv for I'm a Celebrity Get Me Outta Here! It's the one show that I always keep up with. I get bored with Big Brother and irritated with X factor after the auditions where you see all the dreamers but I'm a Celeb is my pleasure, Not guilty because I bloody love it and I don't feel guilty about the fact my life gets a little bit more exciting once it starts on tv...Okay maybe that does sound just a wee bit sad

I don't care its hilarious and with Joey Essex in the line up this year I can't wait to hear all the puns. Tonight was only the first night and he already used a word that exists in no dictionary "Confrontate"! Already cracking up I can tell this year is gonna be a good one.

Every year when it comes on there is someone I can't stand and someone I absolutely love. This year Kian Egan from Westlife has won his spot as my FAVE just 'cause he's Irish, sexy, seems absolutely lovely and I want to share his sleeping bag with him and Matthew Wright has won/lost to the spot of someone who I think will annoy me, he has already cried in the first show...come on man, be one!

Mind you, they probably change once we get to know everyone better, you know once the settle into their new 'home' and meet some of their other 'residents' who will be creeping & crawling with them for the next 3 weeks...Eeeeek I can't wait!

Coca Cola Made it Official

Dear Santa,

I would like to save money

this Christmas please…

The Coca Cola advert has been on TV which officially means that Christmas is Coming!

Normally I dread when people start to speak about Santa’s visit because of the money that is spent but this Christmas I am going to be trying everything that I can to save some money but still give people thoughtful & great gifts. Here is one of my ideas that I will be trying this year –

I first thought of buying empty jam jars but I couldn’t find any that were cheap enough so I waited until my mum burned her candles which come in jars and I washed them out and peeled away the label.
Once I have got the jar I am going to fill it with each person’s favourite sweets. One of my aunties loves jelly beans so hers will be filled with them but half way through filling the jar up I am going to hide a piece of jewellery in a cute wee box, not something really expensive, probably something from a jewellery maker I know.
Then to finish it off I am going to tie a piece of ribbon (their favourite colour) round the top with a small card with a quote that explains our relationship. I don’t know if it’s really cheesy or not but I think it’s really meaningful and that’s exactly the type of gifts I like to give.

I’ll hopefully be going to macro this weekend to get sweeeeeeets. Once I’ve done my first one I will post some photos of the finished result.

I Want to Split up with my Split Ends

My split ends are so bad that people have asked me if my hair is dip-dyed! Its static all the time and it just never sits nice anymore.

This what it looks like just now...

I haven't got a fake tan or been tango'd, I just wanted to show you my hair how it is now.
Its beyond limp & lifeless, my 'fringe' is so long it doesn't count as a fringe anymore.
So, I'm booking an appointment at the hairdressers so I can run my fingers through my hair and have it feel healthy & hair-like rather than brittle & fake (feels like a set of bad extensions).

Here's some of the ideas of what I want to get done to it, definitely a side fringe and thinking layers because I really want some ooomphh but nervous in case I regret them... I'm staying natural brunette though - we have more fun.

Any ideas on how to get my hair healthy & looking like the celeb's hair above would be fab!

Its a Wee Bit Cold Outside

My hands are turning blue, my lips are cracking and my hair is static…WINTER IS HERE in SCOTLAND!  *when is it not*

It is getting a wee bit cold outside and as I am almost always cold, I have been freezing half to death every time I step out the door. I have been looking everywhere for a coat but I can’t find one I like… I want a longish one, long enough to cover my bum but not down to my knees, I want it to nip in at the waist and I want it to be proper coat material, NOT something with the label of being a “coat” for 80 odd pound which in reality is an overpriced cardigan!
<< Something a little like this

Nahhh, I live in Scotland I need something that’s made of armour or at least cosy.
I tried to sew some extra buttons onto a coat I have had for like 4 years and it looked fine but as soon as I took it off in college a button fell off.
The button went into my purse so I could get my mammy to sew it back on for me but by the end of the day there were more buttons in my purse than coins.

I never found my dream coat but got three cosy enough ones for the price of one…Bargain
